The 1966 Chevelle was updated to get us into the muscle car era. A firmly ceased eyebrow up front, rear fenders bulging upward, flying buttresses on the c-pillar, and taillights hooded by the extended fenders all made a substantial statement. And this one shows it off distinctly. The attention-grabbing orange paint you see on this car is an upgrade later in life. It loves the sunshine with its modern gloss and slick clearcoat appearance. But the paint was far from the only major investment in this classic. The doors shut solid; the hood and trunk line up nicely when closed; the weather-stripping feels fresh; and the bumpers have a bright polish. The motor is paired with a TH400 three-speed automatic transmission that's stout enough to handle the big power as it feeds the 12-bolt rear end.
