Jim's Garage Chassis 2 Seat Rear Steer Buggy
I've wheeled this car all over the west coast and has been extremely reliable for me and works well, anyone that knows me knows I'm fairly particular with my stuff. Car recently had rear steer added too it everything from rear links back was new and modifications made to obtain more steering up front and all suspension/shock bolts changed.
General information: 107" wheel base, 18" belly height, 83" outside tire to outside tire
Engine: Low mileage 6.0 ( idles at 35-40 lbs oil pressure ) has Ls1 intake( flipped ),tb, injectors, fuel rail , l92 water pump with GM computer an thinned and reloomed harness by local GM master tech, tuned. Walbro inline fuel pump, pre pump fuel filter, corvette post fuel filter/regulator, Griffin 24x19 Radiator with spal fan. F body Camaro oil pan with improved racing oil baffle, Hooker block hugger headers, magnaflow muffler , 2 into 1 exhaust( entire exhaust system is Ceramic coated ) Custom 12 gallon aluminum fuel cell with gravity fed sump ( built to not crack like cheap aluminum RCI units )
Steering: PSC high volume P pump with PSC over drive pulley for LS engines, PSC remote Resi with filter, Remote cooler with fan, PSC orbital, PSC large rear steer valve.
Transmission: TH350 with 2400 stall converter, high fiction clutches and new steels when built, upgraded sprags, stacked plate oil cooler, stage two shift kit ( allows use of standard "D" automatic shifting when hauling to the trail with full line pressure and holds 1st and 2nd like full manual when selected in gear shifter.) Has aftermarket oil pan with drain , Remote filter block for extra serviceability. Billet aluminum B&M shifter.
Tcase: Atlas 2 4.3:1 gears HD input / outputs. U bolt 1350 yoke front, 1350 CV flange rear, mechanical shifters with AA trans to tcase adapter mount.
Driveshafts: full 1350 front 2pc shaft built by pats driveline, rear high clearance custom full 1410 non CV rear driveshaft also built by pats driveline.
Front differential: GM KP60. 5.13 Dana/Spicer gear set, Yukon forged high clearance 1350 Yoke, Yukon 35 spline Spool, Spidertrax 35 spline 4340 shafts ( 1PC stubs, 2pc inners) ,CTM 300m u joints, Spidertrax drive flanges, Solid Ind. Keyed knuckles, Solid Ind. highsteer arms, Crane spring eliminators, Performance Cryogenics 300m lower kingpin caps( recessed greased fittings ) PSC 2.5x10" stroke double ended ram, PSC clevis ends , 1.5" 7075 tie rods with 7/8" shank x 3/4" hole Heim joints. Spidertrax / Wilwood Rotors / brakes with 4 piston calipers, custom plasma table cut brackets that allow brake hats to slide on wheel hub face like unit bearings / spidertrax design ( gives ability to remove wheel hub as a unit with spindle by gaining access to spindle stud nuts for field service ) - Axle steers 45 degrees currently, re drilling steering arms would allow for full 50
Rear differential: Torq 14 axle 1/4" wall housing with center section internal ribbing with AR plate bottom diaper and integrated shovel/ram mount. Torq 14 nodular iron third member with ruff stuff ind. pinion gaurd, US Gear 5.13 gears, Northern drivetrain 1410 Forged yoke, ARB locker, Spidertrax Pro series Chromoly 7/8" bolt knuckles, Spidertrax ultimate 35 spline unit bearings, Spidertrax 300m 35 spline stubs at 1.438" diameter neck down shafts, CTM 300m u joints , Branik 35 spline 300m inners with Spidertrax yoke at 1.438" diameter ( 1.55" 14bolt 30 spline diameter at locker splines) Spidertrax 4140 keyed steer arms with fully Tig welded integrated steer arm to knuckle gussets for strength. 3" x 11" PSC ram ( destroked internally slightly ) 7075 1.5" tie rods, 7/8" x 3/4" Heim joints and 7/8" shank EMF ball sockets on ram side , Spidertrax / Wilwood brakes with 4 piston calipers( 3/4 bore dual masters ) - Axle steers full 50 degrees
Chassis: Jim's Garage with 1.75" DOM main structure mixed with 1.5" and some 1" mostly entirely .120 wall, .250 wall on lower link tubes , painted with John Deere blitz black ( comes in spray cans for touch up from local JD Dealer )
Drive train can come out bottom or through top upon pulling interior, car was entirely built with the ability with service in mind, 3/16" AR belly skid plate fully and easily removable, AR side skids, removable TC style engine skid plate.
Interior/electrical/accessories: Auto meter gauges, Honeywell/colehersey switches, Dash can be un bolted and removed, wired with two duestch connectors for removal. Entire Fuse panel / relay panel has laminated labeled wiring schematic for troubleshooting if need be ( one kept in buggy, other in tow rig ) LED pod rock lights front and back, dually LED wheeling/driving lights and 2 4" HID headlights , interior dash switched led strip light for night time use,Corbeau black vinyl seats, 5 point harnesses, Billet aluminum B&M shifter, Viair 100% duty cycle air compressor ( can fill tires if need be with no tank , comes with curly hose) , ARB air manifold block, Artec quart crates x2 for spare fluids, Tig welded aluminum tool/storage box with lock, 3 buggy interior bags for carrying whatever, fire extinguisher with quick release, optima yellow top battery, Warn 9500 HS full drum winch with new JM Rigging supply rope, DiY4x4 aluminum/brass firewall mounted breathers on tcase and trans vents with Spidertrax inline roll over valves
Wheels and tires: Trail Ready 4" BS 17" aluminum wheels with 39" BFG red label stickys ( putting a newer more tread depth used set on July 12th )
Suspension: 1" shank EMF greasable/adjustable Heim joints, 4 link suspension, all links are 2" 7075 aluminum , 16" ORI STX struts all around.
