This BMW M3 E92 is complete, fully functioning, but lacking the dashboard. Gianni Giudici raced it in the Euro V8 Series. Before that, the car took part in several editions of the International Superstar Series, and pilots the likes of former F1 driver Christian Klien, Maserati MC World Series Champion Renaud Kuppens, Hungarian WTCC ace Norbert Michelisz and BTCC Champion Colin Turkington have raced for Scuderia Giudici.
The competition was born as Camionato Italiano Superstars in 2004, promoted by FGSport (that also promoted the World Superbike Championship) and approved by CSAI. Up to 2013, the technical regulations were drawn up by Oral Engineering, lead by Mauro Forghieri (former Chief of Technical Development for Ferrari in Formula 1).
Since 2007, the national series was flanked by an International Superstar Series, a series of competitions reserved to cars from the series with V8 engines sized between 3,000 – 7,000 that could exceed 450 CV. The company that had been organizing the championship shut down in late 2013; in 2014 the Euro V8 Series was launched, but it only lasted one season before permanently closing.
